DAY 2 in Medellin, Abi's hometown!

We woke at 6AM to leave for the airport at 7AM. We boarded our plane to Medellin at 8:45 and arrived to Medellin at 10:30ish. We were picked up by Maurice who is the owner of the Bed & Breakfast we are staying at for the next 2 weeks. He’s so kind and speaks very good English! This house is lovely. We are all in the same room..1 queen bed, 2 twin and just enough room for a pack-n-play.

The drive from the airport to our B&B was so beautiful. I’m amazed at how meticulously God chose the colors for this beautiful city. The mountains are covered with green luscious grass and trees…every shade of green is represented in the mountains of Medellin. Bella felt a bit car sick because the streets wind around the mountain and the exhaust from the vehicles are strong. But we made it!

The kids were swimming within an hour of our arrival. It’s just beautiful. The accommodations are not like American accommodations but that’s what makes it lovely. We are learning how others live, what they smell and most of all we are learning out Abi’s home country.

IMPORTANT MEETING…
We met today with our attorney (Nora) and our interpreter (Vickie). They are both jewels. We also met Nora’s sister, Blanca. Such strong women! Nora explained in full detail the adoption process in Colombia, the reason for the need of the many required documents, etc. She also told us about tomorrow…our appointment date! It’s going to be sooo exciting.

She did mention during our meeting that Valeria (Abi) is quite spoiled. So this time tomorrow should be very interesting.

That’s Day 2. Great city. Great food. Great company. Great accommodations. Great family that will add a new member tomorrow. I’m finally getting sleepy. The 2 Tylenol PMs are working…yay!
