Dinner...

As I prepare for dinner tonight, I’m reminded of the wonderful moments shared around the table. When I was growing up, I remember my parents wanting to ask questions while at the table. Some days I didn’t mind. Other days I did. I’m finding that I do the same thing. One thing I love about our family is that we always eat dinner together. Usually around 5:30 or 6:00pm. There’s always a “green” item on the table and as a treat (sometimes) we have delicious rolls…then fight over the last few. We stress sitting in our chair with our feet forward, elbows off the table and of course, no smacking is allowed.

I’ve noticed that as the kids have gotten older, our times around the table have more and more meaning. We talk together. We laugh together. We sometimes dispute together. And we all grab the last roll together. I love dinners together as a family. I love the feeling I get when everyone is full and you know that if it weren’t for God, there may not be food on the table each evening. You remember to be thankful for health, happiness and the joy of having each other.

Less than a week from now there will be a new face at our family table. While in Colombia she will complete our family. She will join the Menefee team around the table. She will need a bib. She may not be as patient as Josh and Bella. She will need help in eating her dinner. She may drop her sippy cup on the floor or even throw it down. She may or may not like the food in front of her. I'll bet she will smile during dinner. I'll bet she will leave the table full. I'll bet she will feel loved by us. I'm sure she will know she is ours! See you soon Abi!

“God, You are faithful and good!”

ONLY 3 MORE DAYS UNTIL WE DEPART!!!
